Laundry happens everyday.
And then I make more!So the other day when I was making up a new batch, I thought it was high time I shared this food revelation with you, just in case you never realized how easy chili can make your dinner-cookin’ life!.
I’ve made all different versions, but this is the simple one I always come back to:.-1 lb ish of ground beef or turkey (not a big deal if it’s still frozen, it’ll defrost in the crock pot).-2 cans of any kind of beans.
-1 can of diced tomatoes.-1 bell pepper of any color (or dehydrated from the spice cupboard if you don’t feel like chopping at all).
And then some spices:.
-About 2-3 Tablespoons of Chili Powder. When it was all done, not only did I have a nice back drop to frame whatever seasonal delights I’ll be putting up there, but I realized that that’s also probably where some molding would be if we had a real mantel here.. It’s not a trompe l’oeil or anything.
You don’t actually think there’s any molding there, but it kind of hints at the idea and adds a bit of a richness to a sad-looking wall none-the-less.. I’ve been up to my elbows in beadboard painting this weekend, but maybe next weekend I’m thinking I may add a few more squares of paint to some other walls. It’s a really quick project you can do on commercial breaks when you’re watching your favorite show and it has such a big impact on a room.
I love my new trick!.Subscribe by email to receive free posts straight to your inbox, or follow along using any (or all!)
